I had a blast this past week talking about the immediacy of drawing and the application of line with my 2D Design students at CUNY Queensborough Community College. Here we see a chalk chalkboard drawing that was executed in about 6 minutes., Yup. A fast expression of unconscious lines, characters, musical instruments and graffiti. I grabbed this shot of the image with my iphone and made a little video to record and archive the drawing. We discussed how chalk boards are ephemeral, they record and display information temporarily, people may render what they see, or take notes, but the information will eventually be buffed.
