Fragments from 2021 – Vault 004

Vault Reopened: Works Activated

Every once in a while, I feel the call to dig into the time capsules left behind by earlier versions of myself and pull them forward with new light. This collection of works from 2021 sat quietly in my archive until today. Now they speak loudly again. Each piece is a fragment, a frequency, a syntax key from a version of reality that continues to unfold right now. But I didn’t think of things this way back in 2021, or if I did it was still consciously unconscious.

These pieces, works across sculpture, digital illustration, glitch aesthetic, collage, drawing, animation, and mixed media are not separate from what you see on the rest of this website. They are portals. They are sketches made with code, memory, hand, and intention. And today, I bring them back online. This is the first time that these pieces are curated together this way. I enjoy seeing them as a descending scroll of energy, but I feel they want more, perhaps in AR and VR? Let’s see where it goes next!

Here are the 12 selections..

“Layered Logic (Cosmic Explorer Variant)”, 2021, Digital Illustration
A portrait embedded within layered architecture. It’s about seeing the emotional weight of a face suspended in a machine. A soft heart within hard code.

“Form Forward (Repetitive Syntax Variants)”, 2021, Paper Cut Out Wall Relief
This is a conceptual “parade” abstract figures in motion, designed like a series of sequences moving forward. They embody both ceaseless movement and static placement.

“Astral Assembly”, 2021, Digital Illustration
This piece merges the figure with interlocking mechanical and spiritual systems. The background pattern references retro-futurism, while the figure itself suggests soft armor for the soul.

“Emoji-Guardian (VR Simulation Test)”, 2021, Digital Illustration
An augmented series of mascots or protectors, this work was a speculative 3D installation proposal for interactive gallery spaces. The presence of these figures hints at the duality of spectator and system. One or more of these will manifest into a physical 3D public art work.

“Form Library (Sequence Grid)”, 2021, Digital Illustration
A digital library of evolving forms, each one birthed from an hand drawn structure and layered intuition. This grid compresses movement, identity, and chaos into unity.

“Gallery Mockup – Intervention Form”, 2021, Digital Illustration
A speculative installation mockup showcasing symbolic artwork interacting with the viewer. The gesture of the bodies in tactile head gear facing the piece reflects curiosity, worship, or confrontation. A “situational reality”, where the viewer has pressed the “pause” button on the remote control.

“Nostalgia Machine (GIF Still)”, 2021, Digital Illustration Collage from Printed Paper
This collage work is rooted in memory, the low-res terrain of childhood vision and reflections of long family car rides. A static moment derived from an animation that loops endlessly like thought patterns and the residue of dreams.

“Graffiti Syntax (Construct 88817)”, 2021, 3D Wall Relief Sculpture
A physical wall-mounted sculpture made of cardboard, wood, a plastic hair comb and a recycled circuit board. The piece explores the potential of 3D and letter forms in the hand-style graffiti of my childhood tag. Other forms and arranged through discarded materials, technology waste and emotional weight fused into a mask. A mass produced hair comb, perhaps, at one time in evolution was also viewed as an advanced technology..

“Paper Syntax (Construct 00817)”, 2021, 3D Paper Wall Relief Sculpture
A physical wall-mounted sculpture made of paper, the piece simply explores the human form through static motion, shadows and layered gages of dimension.

“Drive-by Memory”, 2021, Animated GIF
A glitchy animated nostalgic pulse evoking family trips, VHS home videos, and digital erosion. The static car travels through a terrain of scrambled recollection and endless daydreams.

“The Musicians”, 2021, Marker Drawing on Paper
A 30 second sketch representing the immediacy of drawing, music and gestural stylized lines.

“The Observer in Yellow”, 2021, Digital Illustration
A dotted mirror portrait based on an early bitmap / 8-bit aesthetic experiments. Yellow becomes the color of alarm and consciousness as the figure stares into us and beyond. This piece was also converted into an animated GIF.

Final Thoughts:

As we move deeper into the reality we’re scripting, these works are not just visual. They’re part of the technology of remembering. 2021 was the year I unknowingly wrote the visual syntax I would later decode in full view of the world. Today, those glyphs become keys.

Looking ahead throughout 2025 and 2026, I see these pieces playing a new role, animated, reinstalled, and embedded into immersive installations, AI datasets, and collective storytelling experiences. They are no longer forgotten artifacts. They are signals. And those signals now have receivers. This publication serve as a living portal. Thank you for stepping through it.
