In between our residency weeks 3 & 4
My residency colleague Jeffrey Allen Price suggested that we use the gallery space for an “Official Occupy Potato Event!” If you do not know what “Occupy Potato” is, click the link for more info about the movement: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Occupy-Potato/123248424461875 The event took place on June 18, 2012 at 6:30pm. The Potato Potluck featured Artists Irina Zadov and Abraham Epton , a couple who have driven coast to coast, sharing dinner and stories along the way as part of their Open Feast project. Something potato was brought by all of the guests!

What is CO-ACTIVATE?
Following the success of Energetic Fusion, Jeffrey Allen Price and I will be presenting another community based collaborative, interactive installation during the month of June 2012 at the Second Avenue Firehouse Gallery in Bayshore, NY. We will be creating a new exhibition from scratch. Our residency will start with blank walls, and we will work in the space over the duration of the month. Live, site on scene works will be created. The community and visitors to the space are invited to take part in the creation of the show during the Art Labs & Open Gallery hours on these dates::
CO-Activate Fusion Art Lab Dates:: Saturday June 9th -1pm – 6pm :: Saturday June 16th – 1pm – 6pm :: Thursday June 21st – 5pm -9pm & Friday June 29th – 5pm -9pm. Use ours, or bring your own materials to draw, paint or collage onto the walls!
