I have said it before and I will say it again, I love making animated GIFs.
I cant stop making motion graphics and animated digital collage works generated on and for the internet either.
A format change is in order. Since November of 2012 I began consciously creating animated GIFs as well as an archive for the individual GIFs created for each month. The idea was to be experimental with new media and my existing static art work. I continue to create drawings, paintings, prints, collage and sculpture, but these applied art forms seem to be the props that capture the interest to test new electronic filters, motion and digital techniques. I find it immediate and also fun to share the works online consistently, I am happy to present this body of work below. As of the publication of this blog post my site will archive the GIFs generated for this site as a category and a feed. Far too many of my new animations are experimenting with extensions pushing far beyond the .gif file format. Platforms like newhive and to.be have helped me redefine what can be done in an online field. Codes like iframes and embedding platforms like wordpress allow for the alterations of those codes. Using a feed rather than a page makes more sense and will generate a bit of contrast.
