Vault 008 – The Emergence Field of 2020
2020 was a rupture year.. a collective pause, a global disorientation, and for many artists, an unexpected initiation into solitude, shadow work, and recalibration. For me, it became a year of quiet creation and multidimensional experimentation, marked by a retreat inward and a simultaneous expansion outward into new materials, methods, and formats. The pieces in Vault 008 were created across analog and digital boundaries, some sculpted with tape and paper in real physical space, others looped and layered through the glowing aperture of the screen. This vault doesn’t present a single thematic body of work, but rather a constellation of energetic moments, each one capturing the frequency of a time when the entire simulation began glitching in real time. These works are less about formal resolution and more about transmission, visual signals, coded gestures, energetic residues of a world in transition.
The sculptures made of clear plastic tape, for instance, represent an invisible language made visible. Their fragile, transparent forms refract light in unpredictable ways, reminding me of nervous systems, fossilized movement, or frozen energy caught mid-ritual. These pieces feel like artifacts excavated from a parallel dimension preserved moments of tension, vibration, and silence. Their simplicity hides their complexity. I didn’t build them to be permanent; I built them to reveal. Light became a material. Shadow became a collaborator. The tape works in Vault 008 laid the groundwork for the dimensional layering and transparent interfaces that would later appear in both my sculptural installations and digital portals from 2023 onward.
Simultaneously, the animated GIFs produced during 2020 marked a new cadence in my digital practice. They are not simply loops, they are breathing fields, energetic ecosystems compressed into seconds. “City Walks” and “LandScaped” in particular reflect my experience of moving through virtual terrains while the real world shut down. These pieces loop with intention. They don’t just repeat, they mutate inward. Their hypnotic repetition mirrors the cyclical thought loops we were all collectively spiraling through. They also prefigure the aesthetic of Tesseract logic: layered dimensions, grid collapses, symbolic recursion, and visual code as storytelling. The GIFs from this vault established the rhythm and vocabulary that now animates my work in 2025 across virtual installations, synthetic agents, and time-based digital relics.
Finally, the digital illustrations, portraits, and visual composites presented here function like memory capsules, micro-reflections of both personal myth and collective disruption. “P&L Portrait,” “Drawed,” and “Gallery999098” speak to the fractured nature of identity in a post-contact world. The gestures are raw. The distortions are intentional. These images aren’t answers, they’re artifacts of inquiry. In many ways, 2020 was the year I stopped making work for others and began transmitting for the future. Vault 008 is that broadcast, encoded, layered, and quietly waiting to be decoded by those who know how to see. It is the silent twin of Vault 007 (2017) and the time-echoed predecessor of Vault 009 (forthcoming). All of this now folds back into the present a living archive in motion.

The Crew, 2020, Graphite on Paper
A raw, hand-drawn sketch from 2020, this piece carries the immediacy of gesture and subconscious flow. The strokes feel like a journal entry in visual form, capturing a passing emotional frequency rather than a fixed image. It reflects the artist’s tendency to allow imperfections to speak louder than precision.

The Transcending of Andy, 2020, Digital Illustration / Printed Media Collage / Digital Composite
An homage to Andy Warhol, reimagined as a digital vibration. The portrait mutates through looping distortions, turning celebrity into cipher. A visual remix of legacy and reinterpretation.

Gallery817, 2020, Digital / Photographic Hack Mock-Up
This composite image acts like a window into a virtual gallery that never physically existed. Each quadrant contains fragments of collage logic torn paper edges, flattened scans, texture overlays suggesting both memory and fantasy in flux.

Gallery-999098, 2020, 3D Models, Digital / Photographic Hack Mock-Up
An intensified digital iteration of the “gallery” concept, this work compresses space into a digital labyrinth of objects and light. There’s something metaphysical about how each pane shifts like multiple versions of the artist observing time loops.

Portraited, 2020, Hand Made Paper Collage from Printed Matter
More than a portrait, this image seems to echo between digital selfhood and symbolic identity. The glitch-like treatment around the facial form suggests a disruption perhaps a refusal to be fully seen or interpreted in a traditional way.

Clear-Tape-Multiples, 2020, Clear Plastic Tape Arrangement on Paper
One of several clear tape sculptures from this series, this work manipulates transparency and shadow to create a suspended tension. It reads like fossilized energy residue from a future ritual involving light, memory, and form.

The-2020-2021-Byproducts Poster, 2020/2021, Digital Illustration Poster
This digital collage is an archive within an archive. Layered with excerpts from past works, browser glitches, and scanned surfaces, it reminds us that art can often be the byproduct of living a fully sensitized life.
City-Walks, 2020, Animated GIF
A visual sibling to city-walks4, this loop explores the urban terrain with slightly more focus on architectural rhythm. There’s a serenity in its hypnotic pulse, like breathing through cement and glass.
Cubed Flow, 2020, Animated GIF
This piece plays with geometric animation grids, cubes, and rotations unfold in a rhythmic trance. It balances order and chaos, perhaps mirroring the artist’s own attempt to find peace in constructed systems.
City-Walks-4, 2020, Animated GIF
A looping animated GIF that captures the essence of walking through an imagined urban glitchscape. The pixel movement pulses with rhythm resembling both pedestrian activity and internal dialogue.

LandScaped, 2020, Animated GIF
An environmental animation that blends a digital dream of nature with layered abstraction. The looping quality reveals shifting terrain, as if the land itself is conscious and breathing in binary.

Clear-Tape-Multiples- V2, 2020, Clear Plastic Tape Arrangement on Paper
Another entry from the clear tape series, this version is more compact and reflective. It appears like a frozen nervous system fragile yet structured. Light becomes a collaborator in shaping its shifting meaning.
2020-composites, 2020, Animated GIF
A kinetic collage that encapsulates the aesthetic of the entire 2020 archive movement, glitch, repetition, interruption. Each loop is a meditation on incompletion and eternal recurrence.

Paper & Light Portrait, 2020, Cut Paper Arrangement Relief
This hybrid piece fuses the analog and digital into a stark, confrontational face. The P&L in the title could reference “Profit & Loss,” inviting interpretation around value systems personal, economic, or emotional.
AndyGLITCH, 2020, Animated GIF
An homage to Andy Warhol, reimagined as a digital vibration. The portrait mutates through looping distortions, turning celebrity into cipher. A visual remix of legacy and reinterpretation.

Clear-Tape-Multiples-V5, 2020, Clear Plastic Tape Arrangement on Paper
The final sculpture in the tape series included here, this piece feels more figurative evoking a creature or relic. The layering suggests identity being layered and peeled simultaneously.
NOsounds, 2020, Animated GIF
This animated work visualizes sound as movement, echoing visual sound waves or vocal modulation. There’s a strong connection to Deaf/Hard of Hearing identity here—seeing what others may only hear.

Landscaped-City, 2020, Digital Illustration
A digital illustration reflecting imagined cityscapes, this work blurs architecture, signage, and graffiti-like mark making into a dream map. It’s layered with sensory code part map, part memory.
These works from 2020 remind me that nothing was ever static not the world, not my process, and definitely not the images themselves. What started as a quiet, internal response to a global collapse became a foundational frequency for everything that’s now unfolding in 2025. I see it clearly: the early experiments with transparency, looping, layering, glitch, and dimensional form weren’t accidents — they were signals. Previews. Seeds.
Vault 008 connects directly to the previous archives especially Vault 006 (2013) and Vault 007 (2017) where similar visual codes were surfacing but hadn’t yet found their full context. Now, five years later, these 2020 works feel like stepping stones into my current flow — where sculpture, animation, and digital interface merge into one unified, living language. They’re not just pieces of art; they’re visual syntax. Instructions. Blueprints.
If you’ve been following the Vault series, this post shows the connective tissue the threads between the past, the present, and what’s arriving now. And if this is your first time encountering my work, consider Vault 008 a portal. A place to pause, scroll, feel, and maybe even remember something of your own. Everything in here was made during a time of great uncertainty. But somehow, these works still carry clarity. Direction. Light.
Thanks for being here, Vault 009 is coming soon!
Be sure to check out the RSMAD!
